If it were partridge it should be showing black in base of the morcap and in the primary feathers. It looks more like porcelain .Does anyone know what color this chick is? Molly started out looking like a regular yellow chick but in the last week she is getting a ton of buff/reddish coloring along with white and blue/grey. She didn't have the classic chipmunk pattern a partridge silkie would have so I am not sure what to call this.![]()

So, I picked up the rooster, and I am not convinced that it is 100% silkie. Comb and wattles are very red, and ears are WHITE!!!! not blue! and he is mean too, to top it off. They told me if it didn't work out, if he is too mean, they'd take him back. I know we could probably work with him on that, but do I even want to? maybe I need to post a photo.
Need some opinions . Ive tried searching other threads but feel confused about identifying this problem. Hoping all you wonderful silkie lovers can help. I have a 7 week old silke chick that occasionally moves it's head/upper neck side to side (like tipping down towards shoulder)it's not a hugely pronounced movement more like rocking motion. I've only saw this happen about 10 or so times & I've had it since it was a week old. They have been on medicated starter since I got them.the movement hasn't gotten any worse up to this point . It's eating drinking & growing fine. What could this be & what can I do?
It could just be a crop adjustment manoeuvre . Next time it feeds check to see if it has an overly large crop. I would be putting a vitamin supplement in their water weekly, just in case it's an early symptom of wryneck .They don't need to be on the medicated feed now. The vitamin sup will help replenish the thiamine levels.
Thanks soooo much. I just bought a poultry vitamin for their water. Will check out the links for sure & the crop. I also just bought a new bag of I medicated food too!!!

Lovely.
Thank you so much! I looked up adult pics of porcelains and I am sure you are spot on. I can't wait for her to get more feathers in. (really hoping she's a pullet!)If it were partridge it should be showing black in base of the morcap and in the primary feathers. It looks more like porcelain .
