Could someone recommend some silkie breeders in Western NC? One of my dogs killed a couple of mine, and I'm looking for some better quality ones. Thanks!

How old are y'all silkies chicks when y'all first put them outside I have some that r 5 weeks old some that r 3 weeks old n some that r 2 weeks n some that r 1 weeks I know they younger 1 need The heat light just wanna try n make the brooder crowd with the older ones

Is it the 18th day you go into lock down or do you go 1 more day in intubation

eek!!! I caught the silkie in her nesting box. When i caught my leghorn in there she laid the next day...she is only 20 weeks old but inside where it is nice and warm and get light for at leat 12 hrs!! would be nice if she did lay. Then i wold know for sure she was in face a she yay!

Isn't that always the question, LOL. I think the easiest way to think of it is that the eggs want 3 days of not being turned. So on day 18 you do not turn. And never intubate eggs

I always lock down on the 18th. just because I almost always have internal pips on 19th day. I even had a hatch on day 19 before!
