Silkie thread!

My very first hatch took 23-25 days for the chicks to hatch. I was freaking out the entire time. If you candled them just before lockdown and they were viable then patience is your best course. (I'm assuming you're not having any humidity or temperature issues.) If it were me and nothing had happened by day 25, I'd be candling eggs again...but patience has never been one of my virtues.
lol mine either ok thank you 23 days today still nothing I keep peeking I'll stay patient and positive

I've got 41 eggs in my incubator right now!!!

I am so excited to see what comes out because they are cross breeds!

Here's one of my silkie hens. The second pic is of her and a chick that I put her with. The funny thing is I put her with the chick when it was fully feathered and a few months old and the silkie hen took the chick in as her own. The hen protects the chick from other chickens and makes the noise that roosters and mother hens make when they find food.

This is my first ever babies to raise, I'm soo excited but have a lot to learn...
If anyone has any advice for me it would be highly appreciated!
