Silkie thread!

It looks like she has too many toes. I wouldn't think it would be a problem unless you're showing her or she's limping.
He doesn't seem to have any problem moving around. I just noticed it a while back when I was carrying him around and since he just got a fresh wash I thought I'd take a pic and post.

In my experience, there is nothing "normal" about Silkie feet. I've seen extra toes, extra toenails, short a toe on one foot, two extra toes on the other. As someone said above, it shouldn't be a problem so long as you do not intend to show. I just finished doing minor surgery on a day old Silkie. The outer toes on both feet were fused together very tightly. And this isn't the first time I have had to do that this year.

Here's another pic. You can see the mama's crest.

Yellow feet would indicate that your hens have had a visitor. :(

Ok here is my little mystery silkie, born 2/28/15. I still dont think I have a white, or a buff, I finally took some natural light pics and s(he) is feathering out some any new guesses would be great!

This is with a white piece of paper just as a color comparison

This is a good pic of the blur/gtay/lavender dawn on s(he) chest.

Any ideas?
She looks to be feathering in white. I had one that was lavender and he is coming in white. They will change between these feathers and their adult feathers, so hard to tell truely what color. Another I have, first feathers buff now pure white. So ???? Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

It's ok thank you! I guess I will continue to have s pretty little mystery chick till adult feathers come in!

Mama looks pure. But the little guy in front of her is NOT a Silkie. It isn't possible that another hen laid in her nest, is it?
They're all at least part silkie. They came out of my silkie coop. Except there is an old white beat up Cochin bantam in there. But I think she's too old to lay. At least four years. And I wouldn't think she'd be fertile.

on second thought. I think I put the eggs under her from my big coop, which has quite the variety. Does it look like a buff Orpington mix?
And what about the older one? It's actually more yellowy. (I have an older pic of it on my page) it came from the silkie coop, and is a month older.
I'll ask my neighbor to take more pics of the dark one tomorrow. Hopefully the other two eggs will hatch by then!

I know it is hars. I have 10 little mystery ones right now. They are getting their first feathers like yours, but still don't know for sure. I have one that looked like a chipmunk and now it is multi colored splash looking cant wait to see the final result on that one.
