is it the best thing for silkies and owner to be hands-on with them all or leave them for the most part treat them as another chicken
and the reason why I ask is I have a silkie mama who use to love me to hold her now that she has 9 babies she acts like I'm going to kill her and her babies she try s to attack me lol lil brat so idk if it's a good thing to try and handle them or leave them be

Why do my silkies roll there eggs around they won't lay in their boxes they lay under them and after they will roll there eggs and get them dirty lol crazy girls

Have silkie chicks ever been born with out what is it 5 toes

The original silkie in Asia for hundreds of years was known as white only. The other colors we have now came about by different breeds being introduced many decades back and even as recently as now days. Polish, Belgian, Sultans, and many others. Some of those breeds have four toes. It is common for four toes on one or both feet to pop up on pure silkie strains. It is a DQ on the show bench so most people sell them as pets. Others such as myself just don't put them in the breeding pens. If you don't show or don't care, don't worry about it. If you want to improve your silkie strains, remove the birds with the wrong number of toes. Nearly every silkie breeder I know gets a four toed bird every once in a while.

I thought all silkies were supposed to have 5 toes. Everything I read about says 5 toes with black skin and meat even bones
yes they're supposed to. Some are born with too many or to few. It makes them pet quality the same as if their top knot never really filled in or if their body isn't proportioned as per standard. It happens. They're still cute but not show or breeder quality.

My 7 have 5 toes one is vaulted. I found 2 bantams at tsc that have 5 toes like silkies but they have light skin and different feathers. There was only 2 like that. They both look like vaulted silkies but maybe they will have fluffy heads or something they have puffy cheeks. Unfortunately one has started showing signs of cross beak. Its very slight maybe it can be corrected
