Silkie thread!

@jwhit26

Our silkies are the same age and we are having similar weather. :) Ours by choice spend most of the day outside in the run and it's been in the sixties with a light breeze. At night it's been dropping down into the forties and they huddle tightly under the heat lamp in the coop adjoining the run. I would recommend putting them near a heat source for at least a couple of more weeks at night and perhaps make a smaller huddle box inside your coop with lots of shavings for warmth. Smaller areas are easier for the babies to warm up and maintain heat. Good luck! Your babies are cute. :) Here is one of mine from yesterday.

So my sweet girl ( blue silkie 13 weeks) has a cold again. Last time she did I bought some meds at tractor supply and put it in her vitamin water and brought her in the house with the heat lamp. She was great about 4 days later. So now she is sneezing again. The weather is getting chilly at night ( I live in northern Michigan). So my question is do I keep bringing her in? Thanks in advance!!!

Finally got the little blues and splashes out of the house, and separated the pullets from the cockerels. Well to the best of my ability at this time lol. They're 10 and 11 weeks old now.

They are in a 3x6 coop (w/a divider) temporarily that I just built until I clean out the large coop and move them in there. Supposed pullets on one side and cockerels are on the other side.

These are from the pullet side:

This little one found the roost rather quickly!

This is my Tamar showing off her new earrings. She thinks she's so cute.

Tamar at the bar.

Tamar in one of her favorite places. In my face. I love this girl... she has so much personality lol

This is Tamar's funny looking sister. Look at those sideburns

Okay she's not really that funny looking it was just a weird angle. This is the same pullet from the picture above in the background.

This one is one of my favorites. She's looking pretty good right now. Good toes and foot feathering.

Her wings aren't usually like this. She's trying to keep cool. I really like her, but she has 2 lobster claws. One on each foot. Other than that she is super sweet and really pretty! Nice crest, great toes and foot feathering. I'll keep her as a broody to help me hatch. Tempted to do a test hatch from her if her wings and type look good when she's matured. I've named her marauder (after a character or class in a game I used to play that had a lobster claw hand LOL).

This is the same girl as above with a light blue in the back that I think is a pullet, but not quite sure.

This is the same light blue from the photo above. Anyone want to guess what sex it is?

Same light blue as above. No streamers yet and no visible comb. I kind of hope it's a boy. I only ended up with 2 silkie cockerels (and 2 showgirl cockerels) if I sexed them right.

This is squirtle the runt of the bunch. Very sweet and calm.

These are from the cockerel side:

Splash cockerel. His crest is starting to hide a bit of his comb, but he has a good size comb and I am 90% sure it's a cockerel.

Splash Showgirl cockerel. All 4 of the cockerels are in this pic, but the one in the back is super shy so I couldn't get a good picture of him. He's a dark blue silkie and looking pretty nice as of right now. Crossing my fingers for no leakage.

I really like this boy (crazy eyes), but he has quite a bit of silver leakage on his head and bowtie. You can see it really good in the picture above. I may use him in a fun color pen. He's the sweetest thing.

Sorry for all the pictures... went a little crazy. So glad they're out of the house. They'll be out in the grass soon enough
