Silkie thread!

Around what age should silkies get a comb and wattles I have two white around 7 months and I was sure one was a roo. It even fights my white bantam cochin. But iv seen no comb or crowing.

I know it's not the best pic. But I do shave there muffs and trim there puffs. So they free range and roost.
By 7 months all my silkies have developed wattles and combs. The roosters, obviously larger. Your silkies are beautiful poofs

Buff baby silkie with crooked beak eats and drinks fine its a healthy size I have 3 and another is smaller

iv read this is a common issue with silkies but I'm hoping for any help or advice iv never del with this. Thanks

Best not to use her for breeding. The beak grows like fingernail and needs to be trimmed on a regular basis. I have one little roo with cross beak and he lives in the bachelor pen. I use plain old nail clippers and take a little off at a time , if you keep it trimmed she will be as healthy as the others. :)

Some of my babies from this year. I'm loving the partrdige from my boy Odin.

My buff boy, he is very handsome and loves his ladies. I can't wait to start hatching from this pen.

One of my amazing buff hens, love her to pieces. Love all the ranges in color I get from my partridge pen too.
