Silkie thread!

So, my rooster has a milky pupil in one eye. There aren't any other injuries on him and he doesn't seem sick. Is he just blind? And is it normal for two silkie roosters to not fight?

I would look out for Merek's Disease, milky/foggy eyes and pupils is a side affect for Merek's disease, along with paralysis of the neck wings and legs, loss of weight, sight impairment, and the skin around the feather follicles raised and rough. Merek's disease can unfortunately cause death in a chicken, and has no treatment, (It is also highly contagious throughout a flock easily, and can only be prevented). Check for the sign's/side affects, and see if anything could be leading to Merek's in you'r silkie. ( Unfortunately, there is no cure for Merek's, and it is for the best that the bird be euthanize if they are affected, and before they can affect the rest of the flock :/ I had to do this 2 years ago to one of my favorite barred rock Mom's) Chickens can be Vaccinated at a vet or at home for Merek's disease before it happens to prevent the sickness later on.

If he doesn't seem to be distressed or too badly affected by his eye if it isn't Merek's , I wouldn't worry too much about him, just make sure to keep an eye out so he doesn't wander "blindly", if he truly does have an eye issue that would cause trouble seeing.

Silkies are normally very docile anyway, I wouldn't be too surprised if they don't fight each other for a higher position. How old are your roosters? Are they from the same parents? (Being from the same parent may give a sense of family and less fighting can happen among the two. Chickens have feelings and personalities too, i'm a firm believer ^-^)

Could simply be a peck injury. Ocular marecks usually presents as blue colouring in the pupil and the pupil will also be an irregular shape, squarish not round.

It is always better to be aware of the possibilities . But sometimes too much information can be a little over whelming.

So CUTE! might have to steal the food item idea for my first brunch when my dad lets me breed my white and buff this spring ^-^ Might name one Skippy, and Pan, and JIF,XD

Bought this partridge beauty hen from a friend if mine and now I'm thinking to cross it with my white Silkie male.. Now what possible colors will I be getting by this combination?
P.S female has silver penciling type color starting from her neck to the bottom
And her parents are full black silkies. And my male is pure white.

This is interesting to me. I let my Silkie, Grey, hatch two eggs and I thought I had a little black chick but look what happened today!

those little brown tips are killing me! These are the parents.

I'm terrible at trying to figure out these Silkie genetics and colors. Does anyone have an idea about what the parents could produce? She only hatched two eggs and this is the other cutie pie.
