Silkie thread!

Since you're talking about chick color, has anybody seen a porcelain chick that has the same coloring as some of the ones daxigait posted? The coloring of some is very similar to what my all white silkie looked like when he was sold to me as a porcelain. Thanks. :)

I'm betting that the seller of your chick just didn't realize how it would mature. Were they an experienced breeder? Have you googled images of porcelain chicks to compare how they look? It was probably just an honest mistake. Whit silkies are great too!

White chicks can start out quite smutty and I've even had them hatch light blue.
This is my last hatch of whites.

1000

And yes, they all grew out to be pure white. :)

The momma sat on all those eggs/chicks? I didn't know a Silkie could successfully cover/hatch that many eggs! I figured a half dozen for best results but this is impressive!

Silkies are very greedy when it comes to sitting on eggs. One time I had 3 hens go broody at one time and they were continuously stealing each others eggs. I think I had a total of 20+ eggs to hatch.
