My goal would be show/breeder quality. His feet are feathering out nicely but his legs are more of a blue/dark grey color they aren't black like my others. I know my partridge is looking really good but just not really sure about the white one.![]()
I don't want the non beared I want the beared ones with the big crest
Put in a pony tail so u don't have to trim there crest
That's the plan. I'll post pics. I would like to fine some nice non-bearded stock, though.

I have a silk rooster, he is so sweet, I feel kind of bad, the poor guy always hangs out alone, my other chickens don't really like being held, but he loves being held. What do you do when it rains? Mine have shelter, but my silky I have to bring in the house
. Silkie roos are often friendly little guys. Silkie don't fair well if they get drenched to the bone. The structure of their feather doesn't afford them any real water repellency . If you are happy to have him inside that's fine, and with your constant handling he will remain friendly, but for those days when he can't be inside it helps to give him options . An old dog kennel, milk crate , just about anything that he can safely get under or into that you have laying around.
The birds have completely different attitudes when they can see, are less inclined to bump into things and certainly have better survival skills. Try to find beardless with larger bonnets, 9 times out of 10 the worst vision impairment is caused by the ' upward ' fluff from the oversized beard.![]()
