I can't remember what post I had read somebody wrote that her silkie has a single comb and then followed up writing "I know not the best" is that statement about show quality, what is the preferred comb for show if there is one. Or was the statement maybe about the look of the comb which looked normal to untrained eye.

Then I will most definitely be praying for her! Whenever I think of her I will pray for her and I'll add her to my prayer list to pray for each night. Thank you SO MUCH! I just wanted to give you an update on tweety. She is doing so much better then yesterday. She is super active running around and chirping. It looks like my prayers were answered. Thank you so much. How is your chick doing?

Silkies have to have a walnut comb for show. A single comb disqualies it from meeting it's breed standards I believe.

Curious.......does the height/shape of the crest at a very young age determine the shape/size of the crest at maturity? Btw.....having bred and shown standard poodles for years; sooo hard not to call it a top knot. LoL

Two chicks I have with different shapes

The first one looks like it has a vaulted skull but they can both end up with large crests, depending on breeding, of course.
