I just found out my first Silkie chick order can't be filled. If anyone knows a hatchery that I can order from that has Sikies available I would appreciate the advice very disappointed. Ideally any breeders in the New York Tri state area with available female chicks I would prefer to pick them up myself instead of shipping.

@livesinga I just got my first two, a white & blue, last week on Tuesday as day old babies Aren't they so cute and sweet?

I also waited to get a 3 to 4 mo old Silkie because I wanted to be CERTAIN she was a pullet!


I waited over 4-months to be certain to get a Breda pullet. It takes a long time for a breeder to identify their sex because the Breda have NO COMBS and I was mistakenly shipped a Breda cockerel instead of a pullet but we did find him a good loving home!!!!!


Finally we got our 41/2 mo old Breda pullet and she was worth the wait!!! They have no comb - just a little triangle crest where a comb should be.
