Silkie thread!

Eddie is a good name if the Silkie turns out a girl -- "Eddie" for Edwina!

That's so cute! I have a BB Red Bantam named Edwina. She is my baby.

I'd love to do this. Does anyone have 12-18 silkie eggs from good quality parents available in the next 3-4 days?

I want to keep my flock pure bred silkies. But want a variety of colors. Currently have buff and blue. Would like some paint, splash, white, black.

If anyone has some. Please shoot me a pm. (Again from good pure breed stock please). Not showing but don't want them to be barn yard mixes. ;)

New here & new to chickens so I'm trying to learn. I have 7 silkies... I don't always keep my kids in the house But the weather was really bad...[/QUOTE]

I keep my Silkies in-house if it rains hard all day - doesn't happen but a couple times a year - but anything to keep Silkies dry. One Silkie has CRD issues so I have to keep an eye on her in inclement weather.

I felt bad about locking mine in the coop all day so I let them out (it's rained all day)
They were mud balls.... They just got bathed & blow dried....
I will never ever let them out again in the rain, lesson learned
