Need some advice please. I have silkie eggs due to hatch Sunday and a few more eggs in the mail. What is the preferable percentage of protein to feed silkie chicks. I was thinking that regular starter (17%) for laying flocks would be good because they are small and fast growth is not much of a factor with them. Then I heard the smaller the bird the higher the protein should be because they use a lot of energy to keep warm because of their size.

So what I guess I'm asking is what do all you silkie breeders feed your birds throughout their lives. Thanks!

I'm pretty sure both the whites are boys took some pictures in actual good lighting.

What do I do with this many boys is only option getting rid of them?

i would say the black ones are pullets along with the bottom 2 whites...keep an eye on them. how old are they?

Need more info on their age tho.
