Make sure in your post people know where you live too!

New here, but wondering how big Silkie Bantams should be? I bought 4 at TSC (listed as just Bantams) along with 2 White Leghorn pullets and 2 Black Australorps (straight run). We lost one BA the next day, but the remaining 7 are now about 7 weeks old. Well, the 4 Silkies who are supposed to be Bantam are just as big as the Leghorns! And the BA is as small as my 4 week old EEs! I will post pics as soon as I can get some... I'm wondering if they were mislabeled and the BA is the real Bantam... ????
Not that big, my 2 5 week old ISA brown chicks are already larger than my 4 4 month old silkies. They are supposed to be between 22-18 ounces. Are you sure the silkie chicks are silkies? They are one of the only true bantams unless you import them from Asia which they are bred larger there. Otherwise silkies in the US only come in bantam size.

Even my biggest silkie rooster isn't larger than my 5 week old ISA brown chicks. He 'seems'bigger with all his fluff but if they are weted down in a bath you can easily see how much taller my ISA's are to him and how much bulkier they are compared to my silkies. After a bath though when I blowdry their fluff they look twice the size of the ISA's though most of that is just fluff.

I am lurking and reading your conversation. You said you have ISA brown chicks. Have you had them previously? I have not, but I just got three. I have never before had chicks that are so
calm and unafraid. Are all isa brown like that, or did i just get lucky?

Ok, not a great pic, but here are my Silkies (supposed to be Bantam) and my White Leghorns side by side... I would assume Bantams would be much smaller.... The WLs are a couple days older than the Silkies.
