Silkie thread!

Had to share this pic of my Silkie hen who adopted 7 Easter eggers. She's determinedly sit on all of them!

I tried posting my first-ever-BYC-post via the free-birds thread, but for some reason it would just log me out. So, I'll try to post here. Maybe I can't sell as my first post?

I hatched 4 silkies. All 4 roos! Lol. Just my luck.

Does anyone want 2 silkie Roos for free. One ridiculously friendly (wants to be picked up), and one that is a bit aggressive to anything that moves (but is such a tiny little wimp, he turns tail and runs as soon as you dont back down). Both are free to a good home. Both black with some brown/grey accents around the neck. I can post pics this weekend if anyone is interested. I'm not even sure if this post will appear.

Central Wisconsin, just west of Wisconsin Dells. I would love to trade for a silkie hen or eggs I can incubate.

So nice to be back up. I had to reset my password to log in. It didn't like the old one anymore apparently with the conversion.

So the latest batch is 4 weeks tomorrow. Someone isn't feathering in the right color. No idea what's going on here.

This little one is almost 2 months old now. Still not sure on gender and no one knew what to call the color so my hubby and I have named the chick Birch. It got its name because it coloring looks like a birch tree and so we have called the coloring of this little silkie birch at well. We are planing to breed for this color now with hopes of getting it a regonized color in the future. These Photos are from a month ago almost will take new photos today

Lovely silkie, I actually have a group of different silkies that I am growing right now and I have different varieties of shading of Grey's and silver penciled silkies, and around 2 look like yours and I messaged a shower that breed Grey's and she told me they are all different varieties of Grey's you might have a light penciled silkie!!!

They are partridge chicks from partridge parents, grandparents, and great grandparents. The chick is feathering in black. I haven't had that pop up before.
