Those are so cute!!! :love I love silkies!

So beautiful. I was wondering if when they were chicks if they were skittish if people.

I got this breed due to its friendliness, but lately my kids are now afraid then happy.

They been socialized very early on.

Any advice would be great.

Here's a picture of my lavender splash, blue, silver Partridge and blue splash hanging with a small brown baby that hatched to my surprise.

Chicks go through a stage where they realise they are chicken nuggets and that everyone likes chicken nuggets.

Just keep being gentle and offer treats out of your hand.

I did a winter hatch that had to live in the bathroom for months because of weather. Everyday I'd soak some of their regular crumbles in warm water and offer it as a treat. They all love soaked food. And would swarm me for for it. They were handled a lot. Now they come rushing and begging when they see me.

Thank you. I feel a little better now. I'm going to buy mealworms tomorrow for their first treat. :) :)

Shredded cheese works on them better than anything else I've tried. Just don't give very much or very often. It is salty and they shouldn't have much.

If I need to catch one quickly with no fuss, I toss a bit of cheese down at my feet and wait for the victim to get close enough to pick up. Less stressful than the fish net. They know what the net is and run if they see it.
