It’s been my experience that silkies are like ducks. They might survive without another bird like them, but they won’t thrive. Have you considered a little friend for her?
So precious, I can’t wait till mine hatch, Tuesday !!!!!!!!So some how in -50 degree weather my black silkie not on hides eggs but hatches them.. they are in the house now tho..lol

My silkie hen hatch 2 of the 6 eggs she was hiding I put the other 4 in the incubator. Because she was hiding my silkies kept giving her more eggs.. I didnt think she would hatch any because she was outside in my cover run in -50 degree weather. The other egg have 3 to 5 days lefts do you think she will take the babies when the hatch...

Father is black with red in his hackles, so I am guessing autosomal red? The red didn’t show until he was about a year.
