Silkie thread!

Thanks! I hope you're right about the yellow/whites. I will have to post some updates when they start to really feather out. Not bad for feed store chicks! I hope that most are hens too and that I can convince my aunt to keep a couple of them for later since we can't have roos (probably?????) here. Thanks for the color chart too, I remember seeing it now I think on one of the threads talking about Silkie genetics. Very curious as to how lavender and red are done, not many have talked about non-standard colors further than results save for a discussion about cuckoo and partridge I found and lost the other day. At least I know what white is like from the many people who I have found got stumped by it being in a different locus than colors. If anyone else has any input / guesses I'd still love to hear them.

I have 4 babies that are 5 weeks old. My Roo is a Red Partridge, him and my Blue Hen made a Blue Partridge

And with my Buff Hen, a Buff Partridge

My Black Hen, a Black/Blue Baby

And with a Black Cochin

Haha same here! Opened their brooder and they all went over to chill in the litttle crack of sunlight coming in! Sidenote that polish is definately something white. They seem to just be getting their first feathers.

Is anyone here breeding the Naked Neck Showgirl Silkie's? I'm looking for them! Not the frizzled one's.

Working on it, if they ever start to lay. I have two showgirls right now. One, I have in with the silkie feathered lavender ameraucanas to try to get a blue egg laying lavender show girl (over time). The other, I'm just waiting on her to lay.

Is this 2 day old silkie chick what they call a blue? It looked black when it first hatched and was wet, but not now after it fluffed up good.
