Not sure if I should ask this here or in the Lav thread......If I have a Splash roo what should I breed him with to keep the spalsh going with out getting washout? I know splash and splash would dilute. So, what does keep the color strong?
Quote:
If you breed him to black you can get blue's then breed the blues back together and get the darker splash. Or you can breed him to blue hens and get a certain percentage of Splash offspring.

Thank you! I appreciate the help! But I would have to breed siblings in order to do that, correct? Is that ok to do?

That's perfectly fine. I am going to breed Father back to daughters.
Just placed a order for some lavender silkie chicks!! I will be gettig them the first of May!!!
Can't wait!!!!
I just redid all my pens in the coop and got everyone all seperated and settled.
Now i will no for sure what egg is coming from what color pen. That will be nice!!
Now if only I new who was laying!! LOL!! I swear I have a hen that I no is way old enough to
be laying eggs and I don't think she does. I have never seen her near a nest box or ever laying down any
to even lay a egg. If only I had a chicken cam!! LOL!!!
Do some silkies just not lay eggs or should i say just some hens? Is this odd or normal sometimes??
