AWWWWWW! That's my goal.....to see my own silky mama with her sweet little chicks!!!!!!!

Hope has triumphed over experience and I am going to put fresh shipped eggs under my broody tomorrow (or whenever they arrive) and try one more time. I was heartbroken when the last attempt failed. The two adorable chicks that hatched died one day later for no apparent reason. Can they be smothered by the mother sitting on them? The nest box was over filled by 3 broodies competing for the available space of two. I don't know what happened and I pray that these hatch out strong and healthy under the last broody that is still in the nest. The other two competitors lost interest when the hatch failed.

Sam~~is that black I'm seeing in the tail feathers and hackles of your Silkies??

If so, it's not a color I've ever seen before, and not an accepted Silkie color

Wow! I like that color pattern!!!!!!! Accepted or not, those are beautiful! What are the parents?

Remember, every new coloration has to start somewhere.....

I got them from a girl in holly michigan that won them on ebay as hatching eggs. She told me when I bought them they were partridge and lavender ops!!! lol
Of course I was new at this and didnt know better:)
