Silkie thread!

I had silkies a year ago and the hen keep busting the eggs does any one know why?

The sizzles look more like a silkie but have some backwards feathers like the frizzles. The frizzles have all backwards feathers. Thats how I describe frizzles anyway. They have the wind-blown look

This is Pricilla, she is a frizzle. The one behind her is also another sizzle hen

This is George, she is a sizzle. Notice how the feathers on her neck stand up and point forward? She is a "Special" hen. She lives in the oust because of her disability. The others peck at her. She has a better poof on her head now but it's not big.

I have 2 more in the hoard of chicks I hatched this month that are looking to be frizzled also. I didn't know which hens laid which egg unless I actually caught her in the act since I have them all in the silkie pen. I have to wait for them to feather out to know who is what.

[Sonoran Silkies]

ANY breed can have a frizzled bird (and is a recognised variety for EVERY recognised breed by both APA and ABA). It simply means that the feathers are curled. All other features must meet the breed standard.

A frizzled silkie has silkie feathering that is also curled. This is NOT a sizzle; it is a frizzled silkie..

A sizzle has EVERY feature of a silkie EXCEPT for silkie feathering; a sizzle does NOT have silkie feathers. It DOES have curled feathers.

Priscilla is a sizzle. George and the unnamed white are frizzled silkies.

I can't tell whether the chicks have silkied feathers or not.
