So I've been told based on how a partridge silkie feathers out you can sex them based on color. So does the same apply to a blue partridge silkie...can you tell by the color they feather out.

I cant really tell with the pics but he seems pretty decent. The comb seems a little bubble gum like but it is dark. Do you have a big close up side shot? He looks pretty bad without his crest

Okay, I am bouncing back and forth with getting some silkie chicks. They are of the bearded variety.

my question is........wry neck.

How common is it in Silkies? how prone are they to it? I know you have to be careful due to the vaulted ceilings....hahaha. Yes I know, vaulted skulls.
I see so many fans of this breed, but, my impression so far hasn't been great, yet, I'm still drawn to them.

the hatchery I'm looking at has a variety of colors and I'm contemplating to give them a whirl again. I had 6 last summer and had two got wry neck. of which they fully recovered, but, was a time consuming , painstaking ordeal to bring them back to health.

I'm just kind of on the fence with them right now.

If I get them I plan on getting white, black, blue and grey.
the dilemma. I'm getting spring fever too soon.
