I don't like his comb, but I've seen (and have) worse. He is out of condition (look at his crest), so it is had to tell how nice he might be...

Hi all! It's been a while since I've been on! Junior year in high school makes it hard to find the time and patience to sit online. Just wanted to say that I have my first broody girl (And she's a biter!

) and now all of them are molting. Terrific. I'm hoping Roo-roo can molt in before the Sussex Poultry Fanciers show in late May.

Love that spring is finally starting to return to the north!

What do you mean out of condition? I know his comb is really big and i have seen what they should look like and like those alot better! So that will be something i am goin to work at.

I also like to know where to get them I like the ideal also. I live in the middle of no where but I also get scared when my cousin takes mine to shows and when I let them use them for 4-h I have alot of money and worked hard on them and it would be a huge blow to lose any.

I am reading this thread from the beginning and am only on page 195 but I had to stop long enough to post how excited I am to have won Kelar's auction for 24 Silkie eggs tonight! Up to now I've only had LF (mainly hatchery hens from last year, great brown egg layers and 3 beautiful Cochins I hatched from Oregon Jen's eggs). I bought some mixed banties at the feed store but now that I have the Silkies on the way, those guys will probably be finding new pet homes.

Almost as exciting, I am heading up to Stephenson WA for the Silkie & all breed shows next weekend. Fortunately my mom will stay behind and keep an eye on my bators.

I am really enjoying reading the posts on this thread and seeing all the beautiful pics. Bummer that some of the photos are no longer visable. What a great bunch of Silkie lovers! And so much great information.

Hope to meet some of you at the shows next week.

Julie
