Silkie thread!

One day I went out & found my Best Partridge cock had decided the hens were fluffier on the other side of the pen. I scooped him out, and decided for kicks & giggles to hatch out a few days later from that pen. The Non Bearded white hens were in there. Well I sold all the white hens, but before they left the girls left me a little package. Well he he is

I was going to sell him, but the foot feathering is just so awesome on him, I might have to show him first! lol

White x partridge huh? I wonder sometimes what lurks beneath the white and am tempted to play mad scientist at times as well haha guess your manly roo decided to do that for you and go play rico suave

I have a group of quarantined whites that has one blue hen with them. Just for giggles I popped in about four of the eggs from the pen in my incubator. The blue and two whites are the only ones laying I think so we'll see what happens the eggs are at 14 days right now lol Guess I just couldn't stand having an empty bator

Oh and love the foot feathering wowzers, I have a lavender roo with foot feathering like that but a small crest, soo wish his crest was bigger so I could show him. He came from stock that all had good crests so idk what happened to him! I tease him when I take him inside at night and say he needs rogaine

I have found that White bred to colors gives a lot of Partridge. Usually darker shaded birds. But those birds bred on, give really nice partridge in the secong gen. That is how I first got into the color.

I think I have your Lavs twin at my house. Everything is perfect except that head on my guy! lol

The person I bought him from bred him first and told me the chicks are looking like they will have better crests than he ended up with. Poor fella was the odd ball out but he's a total doll baby so even after I don't want to breed him anymore I think I'll keep him. When I first got him I broke his quarantine early
hmm.png
I could have kicked myself for doing it but he was in a pen where he could see my pen of babies (8-10 weeks) across the yard. He was crying for them he sounded so pathetic. After a couple of days of him acting so miserable I put him with the babies to see what would happen. He literally adopted them it was so cute. Every night I'd go out there to get him he have at least 2 or 3 of them underneath him like he's their momma LOL The babies are now 3+ months old and still run underneath his feathers for comfort it's adorable!

I wouldn't take it the wrong way , as a matter of fact I kept thinking that was all it was ( them watching me ) but it isn't I really don't know why they have their heads tilted . They don't hang or droop they just tilt to the right like they are questioning you . I haven't given any meds yet - I was praying that someone would come on the forum and help before I had to just decide myself what I was going to do . (I'm wondering though if I should maybe give a antibiotic in thier water ? ) I really do understand bacteria better then wryneck . I first herd of wryneck on Brown egg Blue egg web site and since have read about people having problems with it . I'll be the first to say I panic and looked for what health problem I thought matched the symptons the chicks were haveing . Again thank you for your help . ~~ Tammy

I think the best you can do right now is observe maybe give them a bit of vitamins but not antibiotics. Vitamins IMO aren't going to hurt the situation regardless. I think sometimes it's easy to jump the gun while you're trying your best just to take proper care of your little babies. I sometimes fall into freak out mode too after reading up on certain symptoms I've observed and automatically assuming the worst. IMHO if they are eating and drinking, sleeping and pooping all fine then for now don't do anything about their strange behavior unless it gets worse or any the basics start to be lacking. It might just resolve on it's own ya know?
