was just saying, that standard and show quality changes, and drops alot over time, as i know in dogs they tend to get mentally and physically stunted. so how do you know the show quality birds are like the original breed (or do some of you eat or just test your culls/extra roos)? my neighbor who has given me some dutch eggs, used to have some silkies, and he said like some on here, they will just sit there in one spot and die from sun, rain, and not knowing to go eat if food not put close in small area. also his would sit but crush eggs, and if did move would just stay were was to long and eggs would be lost, or would just sit on eggs and they would smother or cook or whatever. im not saying bad about dutch, im just trying to learn more over opinions as never worked with, but curious (though if anything like these two cochin chicks, ill be pleased). i wouldnt want to lose any cause i put out in pen, and they couldnt thin even a bit for selves, as then id just keep as caged cuddly house pets.
also i see alot of silkie other types of birds, so wondering how to tell from looking quick whish is which, and if easiy to confuse, even if mixes show up at shows?
