Silkie thread!

Welp, I finally had a Silkie dream last night.

Never happened before. Apparently I was hatching eggs from my birds (which I've wanted to do forever now) under one of my broody layers. Most of them were seemingly nonfertile. But the strangest part was that my broody hen was in a microwave?

LOL...one can interpret this dream in many different ways!

Strangely I had chicken dreams last night too and I never did before. My one silkie mix boy is huge and in the dream he was twice as big and all I remember of the dream I found him roosting in my bedroom so of course when I woke up I had to look up at the ceiling to be sure he wasn't there! LOL

wait until it finishes drying and fluffing. how is it different Pattern ? black ? some white chicks hatch yellowish others will be grayish.

oh they not white for sure i have an all black one, and a white one with black chipmunk stripes on it.

ok i have the final count from my so far pure white eggs

3 white
3 white show girls
2 black
1 splash- light blue- or lavender i am leaning towards lavender breeder has lavender breeding pen. does not really look like splash or blue to me.
1 white with black chipmunk stripes

i think she might of just put eggs from her other pens because she did not have enough eggs.

is it possible to get all those colors from a pure white pen?

That's too funny! I've had two Silkie dreams in the past month. I also must mention that I'm 9 months pregnant, and we all know how weird pregnancy dreams can be. Anyway, in both of my pregnancy/Silkie dreams, I was giving birth to Silkie chicks! So strange! I told my husband and he got a pretty good laugh about it...actually, he's laughing right now at me telling others.

I'd say she got them mixed up, or like you said made up the difference with other colors. Were Showgirls supposed to be part of the mix?

x2

A "pure white pen" should have 100% white offspring.

HatchingFever I love the colors of your silkies that you won in the show with. Gorgeous color. I have about 4 babies. Was supposed too have 5 but one turned out to be a frizzle which I told them I did not want. I also thought that all silkies have feathers down their legs but only one of mine does. Am I wrong in thinking they all have feathers on their legs. I might have gotten hoodooed on my babies. But I will love them just the same. I had a good collection of just the right breeds in 4 different coops and runs. Laying good and all but I ended up sick and my hubby would upset me because he didn't want too clean the cages, feed and water them everyday. He would always say they have plenty and people don't keep their cages as clean as you try too do so after having such bad luck with my health I sold all of them and after I did, he said I didn't mind taking care of the chickens, you didn't have to sell them and I told him yes I DID because I couldn't stand to see dirty water, poop everywhere in the cages and such. Guess what he and my daughter have 30 something babies up on the hill in a coop. I told them I wasn't able to take care of them and they did not need to believe that I would. My daughter said she would come by and yes for the last two months she has been by the cage about 2 times. OH WELL I wish I had kept all my EE's and the others that I had. Was getting over a dozen eggs a day and at least I made a few bucks on them. Sorry for venting here.
