How are you keeping your birds cool right now?

Water and more water with ice in it. Misting, shade, fans & pans of water to stand in. I *think* it's about to cool off a bit

Some of my birds are taking it better than others but I don't even like being outside when it's closer to the 110 mark I can't imagine living somewhere hotter!

Yes, cooler today--highs of about 111, which is far better than yesterday's 113, registered in the shade in my backyard. Official high was 111, but that was not in MY yard. Oh, and the humidity is on the rise as we head towards monsoon season. Anyways, tomorrow is supposed to also be "cool," then we head back into the 115s. Somewhere I heard a predicted high of 118 for Friday, but don't find that on any of the weather sites.

I hate summer

If you got them from a breeder that has shown, then I would say your chances are better to have breeder/show quality silkies!

That is a part of The Natural History of the Chicken, a PBS special from a number of years ago. A very good watch; I haven't seen it in some time. Thank you for posting the link, so I could watch again.

Wow , just like watching a movie, what a wonderful story teller, had me tears and it's not over!

I am not sure what she would be considered for sure. Gray, blue or maybe even splash???

She is splash.

Thanks! Her base color is darker than my other splashes. Is this still an acceptable color for a splash when have more of a gray base color?

Looks fine to me. I prefer the darker background to a too-white one.
