Silkie thread!

well yesterday everyone helped me sex one of my silkies and it is a boy it tryed to crow today. He is 17 weeks old. We tought he was the lonely survivor of a racoon attack about 4 to 5 weeks ago. se we put a few americaunas in there with him. We had given up hope that none of the other silkies had made it. well today while out feeding the chickens and watering them i heard something in the woods and my first thought was another racoon so i stood there for a few min to make sure nothing was going to attack my chickens again since they were out roaming the yard. So i went and got my husband and he brought the gun out just incase and i sent him to investigate he was gone for about 30 min and when he came out of the woods he was holding a chicken at first i thought it was one of the chickens i was letting roam free. i let different breed out at different times of the day since they are all in differnt coops. but when he got closer it was a silkie. at this time i was wondering how did my only silkie got out so i went to the silkie coop and could not find out how he could have gotten out so i looked inside and there he sat on a roost. i then became excited and told my husband that this is a different silkie that our one lonly one was still inside the coop that is when i knew i had at least one of my other silkies had survived the attack. i asked where he found her which i am hopping is a her. he said in the old barn that has not seem daylight in about 30 years or more on the back of our property which was covered with weeds and trees that we had planted to have trees on our property and the barn is litterally falling down and he said there she was just sitting there and that it took him a few min to catch her but one he cought her she settled down. my daughter is so excited that at least one more silkie made it my question is how did she survive for so long out in the woods. she looks healthy. i also have 25 silkies that are 5 weeks old and in a brooder stll but in a few weeks they will go into the silkie coop. Can somene please help me tell if it is a she or a he no matter what its name will be lucky.

Here is Lucky depending on if it is a girl or boy the second part of name will be lou or louise

sorry for all the posts and pictures i am just so excited today and i love my silkies

I have been trying and trying to hatch out Silkies with no success (shipped eggs -

) ..... Until now! We now have a lovely back and white Silkie chick that hatched out last Friday. He/she is not as fluffy as some on here but not only does Bib have the required five toes on each foot, one toenail on each toe and black skin/feet she is the fastest chick on two legs that we have every had and a sweetheart to boot. Unfortunately, she is also an only chick (our last chick was also an only chick) and is fast on her way to being completely spoiled.
