I want to enter some of my silkies at an upcoming show (end of January). I went out to look at what I have with a closer eye and realized my prettiest girls are showing obvious signs that they are popular with the boys. Their backs aren't naked but obviously tattered. If they are split up now, about how long does it take for them to come back in decent enough "feather" to show? This being my first show, I'm not going with high expectations, it's more a learning experience this time around. I just don't want to be laughed out of the show hall.

Don't hold back, I really do need the input and prefer it straight up.

That makes sense as she is marked a lot like my partridge except for color! Really pretty! Do you know what her parents were?

I don't know what her parents were exactly, but the breeder said she was breeding for porcelain, and this color occasionally pops up.
