Silkie thread!

He's the same age as mine! He's very pretty! :) Is he a real sweetie? Mine loves to be pet and held.

No he does not want to be touched

Sager: I know that Buckeye95 already gave you excellent advice and mentioned the VetRx but I felt compelled to add that with the VetRx, you can also put a couple of drops under each wing, on top of their heads, a drop in each nostril and a couple of drops right in their mouths! It's not just great in their water! It has even more uses but these are the most important in your case right now. The menthol in all those places really does help to open up their breathing. If they tuck their head under their wings to sleep at all, then under their wings is wonderful because it will be breathed in all night! Good luck with your babies!!

These are my 8 silkies I hatched out 4 weeks and 3 days ago. Here they are.

I was wondering about their quality? Is it to early to tell? Also can anyone tell which are roos and hens yet?? Some have some big combs...

Some chicks look about the same so I couldnt tell them apart. Lol

Big combs at this age are likely boys and probably not a plus down the road as they might get too big. I look for black skin, 5 well spaced toes, lots of feathering on feet especially the front toe.
And I definitely look for loveable! Looks like you have lots of that!

This is my Ella at 8 weeks ... (not sure if Ella is a girl but I'm still hoping!!

I've read that Silkies often sleep on the floor. Not my Ella! This bird is often the only one on their tiny roost at night.

Peepblessed: What a lovely shot of your beautiful girls!!

Barngoddess: What a little sweetheart your Ella is! My Silkies all get up on a roost too! Their roosts are anywhere from 1-1/2 to 3 feet off the ground!
