Silkie thread!

Agh, you guys are killing me with all your cute chick pics. I've got 9 Catdance Silkie eggs in my Brinsea due to hatch a week from today! I can't wait to cuddle those sweet babies! Of course, it means I'm going to have to build another little coop since the LF coop is full but we all have our challenges, don't we?
Keep those pics coming - this is a great thread!

I love all the pictures on here too! It is making it harder for me to be patient for my chicks due on the 22nd.

What color are you hatching? Karen has such beautiful birds!

I'm enjoying my silkie chicks! I was hoping to spend a good bit of time with them today and get some new pictures of them out on the grass, but the garden kept me busy all evening.

I did want to share this chick though. Is it a Silver Partridge??

WOW! That is the cutest little silkie ever!!!! I LOVE her color.

Love it!! Just popped over to look at your horses, too. Treasure :love  LOVE her! (Nootka is a looker, too!)

Thank you! We love them very much! Treasure is my new gypsy horse, first ever! We were going to put Einstein on her head, but she's young. Nootka is my old fart, and he wouldn't spook if a bomb lit under his big butt!

What would you guys recommend for an incubator for a total beginner??
I found this little Brinsea incubator: http://www.brinsea.com/prod-Mini_Eco_manual_10_egg_incubator-229.aspx
Are there other small ones like that out there that I just couldn't find? Around the same price range?
People seem to be praising their Brinseas on this thread.

I also found this one: http://www.amazon.com/9200-1602b-St...Z8W0/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1336440162&sr=8-7
I don't know if this would be something a beginner needs to have but I certainly like the price better. lol

Then of course this is the best price at Murray McMurray, but the incubator is awfully small. I think I'd like something more than 3 eggs worth. And would this one be more for kids?

I should probably get of book to go with it for a first timer, no?
