Silkie thread!

I need your help, silkie gurus! What color is this boy (other than black and white)? He came from a black/lav split egg.

I've been calling him an Oreo, but I'm pretty sure that's not a recognized color.

Grayis about the closest thing I can think of to describe the color. However genetically if he come from a Lav/Lav split pairing - he is not genetically speaking a Gray. Maybe a REALLY heavy silver leaked black??? You'll have to talk to our Genetic's guru Silver SIlkie or Sonoran for a better idea on that.

Absolutely gorgeous...love Silkies when they are between 3 and 6 months.

I let my silkies free range today(of course keeping a very close eye on them) and I ended up taking way to many pictures so I just have to share!!

Here are my 3 month olds(I'm not sure how old the white silkies are but I'm pretty sure they're around the same age.)By the way I don't know the gender of them but I think they're all girls??

Speaking of moms I have 3 broody hens and surprisingly none are silkies, but one is a silkie mix. I tried to put eggs from my blue pair under them but the pullets not laying very well(just started laying). Also, I'm going to a show next weekend and I'm bringing 1 blue pullet, 2 white cockerels, and 1 buff cockerel(all silkies).

Thank you everyone for such great pics of all your silkies...I just love looking at them and they make me smile.

I want to take pics of mine as they are looking great but it has been and still is raining so everyone and everything is looking a bit raggy...

Thanks again people for the wonderful pics
