Silkie thread!

Oh, you have no idea how much Snowman tempts me into having an illegal roo here! But I'm already tempting fate by having chickens over my legal limit here in suburbia. I don't need chicken police knocking on my door.
Come on! You KNOW you want him! And he crows on tippy-toes. No threat there!

Entertainment suggestion: Take a grow out pen with a dozen or so 10 week old Silkies and offer them raisins, one at a time. Takes awhile for a serious customer to show up (raisins DO look a bit "off") but once they do - look out! They race around screaming about their prize and then pile up for more. Totally entertaining!!!

ooo i know how you feel! we can have roosters in our area , but my husband feels if we keep one we might as well post a big sign on our front yard saying " hey we our over the chicken limit" ( my logic is my chickens are small... 2 equals 1 normal size :) , plus they are quite and my garden is very clean, not bothering anyone here.

My silkie showgirls 1st day outside :) they remind me of little ostriches running and ducking in the grass every time they get startled

Cookie is the partridge and Flour is the white one

a little of topic but i love this picture ... my eldest with Crème & Brûlée just days before Crème got sick and passed :[

Question- is it as unusual as I am feeling it might be, after reading that Silkies do not lay frequently to have a pullet laying daily? Her eggs are hard shelled, pretty and have dark yellow yolks. She has only been laying sing the end of May, when I bought her. She took a little over a week break to adjust to her new house and has laid 2 eggs the first day she resumed laying and an egg daily since then. Could this be because of the time she took off, or am I possibly feeding her too much?

OMG. I thought that was only one chick in the first picture and I couldn't figure it out. Thought it was some strange thing! hahah. Cute as buttons. Especially the little girl!
