Silkie thread!

Can anyone tell me what color my Silkie babies are, they are 2 weeks old from Catdance's beautiful eggs. I thought they were light blue but thinking maybe Splash. Much appreciated.
Very nice chicks!!! I also have Catdance babies. These are likely splash though I did get one from her that I thought was splash and turned out light blue. You will probably be able to tell for sure in a couple of weeks. If you ordered lavender, as I did, you may have some lavender.

Thank you peep blessed, no I did not get lavender. I'm leaning towards splash--her silkies are great, aren't they!! If they are splash--will they be blue splash or like they are splash? Oh well, time will tell! Any pics of your catdance silkies?

I assume you are referring to the bird in 17710? In those two pictures, the OP seems to think one wing is split and the other isn't. They both look split to me.

I intend to show my bird in question in the fall so I'm sure I'll find out soon enough from the judge if he is DQ'd!!

(However, I would prefer NOT to embarass myself if it really is a split wing.) Bird in question is just 7 months old so I suppose it could still be an immaturity thing? Or, even better, I simply don't know yet how to properly evaluate a wing?

The OP was me, and that particular bird had one split wing, not two. Be careful not to confuse a missing feather or two with split wing. I did at first. If feathers are missing, look at the under side and you can see the direction that any missing feather will grow. Those particular birds are gone so I cannot take another image or I would.

Question: This may be rendundant but haven't had an answer yet, bought two adult silkies one is 1 2/2 the other is 6 months old and they haven't layed any eggs and it has been 8 days. Is this typical of silkies?
