Very pretty!!
Blacks often get red leakage in their hackles if the parents are a cross like black and partridge or buff or white. It can be very beautiful but not considered a good quality.Thank you Sweetpeeps! To be honest, I don't know, not sure if it would be consider a Calico or just Black. Maybe someone in here can share their knowledge with us.
Very nice chicks!!! I also have Catdance babies. These are likely splash though I did get one from her that I thought was splash and turned out light blue. You will probably be able to tell for sure in a couple of weeks. If you ordered lavender, as I did, you may have some lavender.
I assume you are referring to the bird in 17710? In those two pictures, the OP seems to think one wing is split and the other isn't. They both look split to me.I intend to show my bird in question in the fall so I'm sure I'll find out soon enough from the judge if he is DQ'd!!
(However, I would prefer NOT to embarass myself if it really is a split wing.) Bird in question is just 7 months old so I suppose it could still be an immaturity thing? Or, even better, I simply don't know yet how to properly evaluate a wing?![]()
Spash chicks change a lot as they mature and they will all look different.Thank you peep blessed, no I did not get lavender. I'm leaning towards splash--her silkies are great, aren't they!! If they are splash--will they be blue splash or like they are splash? Oh well, time will tell! Any pics of your catdance silkies?

This sounds like EXACTLY what I'm trying to learn!! I obviously need to look at a lot more birds and a lot more wings - good and bad ....![]()
