Yeah, it's really tough to get everything right but that's what keeps us going!!

I think I may have two that have a lighter black skin. It's prbably from Lorraine.. She has a pale complexion, but she gives off the best fluffy babies, so I will use her!

It's not unusual for them to out produce themselves. Lorraines mother looks chocolate. Is that her actual coloring?

She is a brownish colour yes.

This is Lorraine's father George Seems everything these two (George & Flora Mae) produce together turn out exactly like Lorraine, minus that frilkie..

Here is Lorraine's little sister. She has a bit of a crooked beak, but I find it charming lol.

You can see her/his light skin here. It's not white or yellow. Just a muted version of black. The eye colour is also lighter.

George is really neat looking!! Did you know that chocolate is a project color that some breeders are working on? She could be a good start for that if it's not just sun bleach.

Sun bleach? HA! She has been cooped up broody nearly all spring/summer. She's on her 3rd brood this year alone.

Lorraine also.. I'm not going to have any silkie eggs to hatch if they don't knock it off!

So yes.. She is not bleached in anyway. Poor thing is on a mission.

Only two possible roosters I have to breed her with are George and Steve. With all the colours popping up, I may get something chocolate coloured

Hi there, I'm a newbie this spring/summer is my first with chicks. Mine aren't nearly as beautiful as the Silkies I've seen on this thread, but to me they're my Beautiful lil Fluffer Butts and I love them Haaaa !!! I'd love to share some pix to see what people think of my chicks but have no Idea how to earn permission to post. Any input would be helpful...otherwise I guess I'll just keep adding to my albums.
