Silkie thread!

Here's the directions I read for sour crop-
Separate hen, 24 hours with no food, only water with 1/4 teaspoon of acidified copper sulfate (comes in powder form usually at feed store) in a gallon in plastic waterer only. If you can't find that, use two tablespoons of organic, unfiltered apple cider vinegar on the plastic gallon waterer changed daily. Day two add only plain yogurt. Day three add plain scrambled egg to the yogurt. Each day massage the crop several times a day pushing toward the back of the crop, not upward, day three maybe some soupy oatmeal added to eggs & yogurt but no grains. Don't make throw- up that can kill them. Best of luck.

Will a silkie be sad if she is the only silkie in a flock? I have a small flock that is growing, was planning on adopting a silkie and an ameraucana (sp??) bantam. Both of these chickens are from the same flock, but I have NO silkies at home. I've been doing some research, and finding out that they like to be with other silkies, and don't roost with the other birds. Wondering if this sweet silkie would be better off going somewhere with more than one? My kids are in love with her and really want me to take her along with the other bantam.

Currently I have a Polish at home and some sort of EE pullet. They are both standard size chicks. Looking to add some more girls before winter comes, just don't want a sad silkie on my hands. Currently, the flock she is in has other silkies so she is used to being around them.

I am new to chicken-hood any info you could provide me with would be soooo appreciated.

Thanks!

Have a couple of questions on the silkies have one currently and getting 4 new ones in a week.
As far as roosting any recomendations on what to do the one I have currently likes to sleep under nest box set up I have with some of the smaller chicks? Also if you breed a white silkie to a blue what color do you end up with? Thanks!

I think I have heard that breeding white to anything other than white is a crap shoot.
