Silkie thread!

Will a silkie be sad if she is the only silkie in a flock?  I have a small flock that is growing, was planning on adopting a silkie and an ameraucana (sp??) bantam.  Both of these chickens are from the same flock, but I have NO silkies at home.  I've been doing some research, and finding out that they like to be with other silkies, and don't roost with the other birds.  Wondering if this sweet silkie would be better off going somewhere with more than one?  My kids are in love with her and really want me to take her along with the other bantam.

Currently I have a Polish at home and some sort of EE pullet. They are both standard size chicks.  Looking to add some more girls before winter comes, just don't want a sad silkie on my hands.  Currently, the flock she is in has other silkies so she is used to being around them.

I am new to chicken-hood any info you could provide me with would be soooo appreciated.

Thanks!
Not at all no :) I started out with just one silkie pullet, and she was very happy with her flock mates that were not silkies.

I have a new silkie hen, I'm wondering what colour you would call her, she reminds me of a tabby cat
very pretty, it could be she's a cross between colours, what do you think? Partidge?

Oh wow absolutely gorgeous! Yes definitely a mixed color never seen a bird like her before! Looks like partridge X cuckoo or something going on with that barring.

I was wondering if some of you silkie experts could give me your opinions on my silkies and their types. I opened a thread with the pics but haven't gotten any replies. Should I put the pics here instead? Thanks.

thank you!

good advice...sour crop is a strange illness and I had two LF girls get it a couple years ago...I even took one to the vet and they drained her crop ect, special diet...it worked for a few weeks but I ended up losing them

I was told it could be a secondary symptom of something else wrong ....? I hope she gets better soon..
