I agree exactly with Deb.
Those air cells look really big for day 14

To clarify: The first Partridge and the Blue look normal for air cells, but the rest look like mine when they are ready to hatch (except the obvious non-developers).

Here is one of my silkie eggs at just about the same time.

so I don't know what you mean when you say the air cells look normal on two but the others look really big. So the two you mentioned are around day 14 and the rest that are viable are around day 20-21??? So really big = ready to hatch? WOW I need to move her now to the rabbit cage inside the potting shed so the babies don't fall out of the nesting box. Thank you for any and all information you can give me ASAP

Did you bathe them with the blue shampoo for poodles? I find that helps. At least with my poodle it does. She looks so white when I bathe her with it

I asked someone at the one and only show I went to in Calhoun, GA and he said Woolite. There was a guy there who bathed his in a shampoo with tea tree oil and the judge told me never to bath in anything with tea tree oil as it's very hazardous to them. Just a little nugget I picked up on.

If you have had them being incubated for 14 days that's how far they are along. The air cells just look like mine do at hatch. That's all

I would move her before lockdown anyway. That way if she doesn't like where you set her, the eggs won't shrink wrap.

I thought "lockdown" was a phrase used for incubators...what does that mean when the hen is sitting on them?

Oh.. and lockdown refers to day 18 of incubation when you want humidity up and temps stable until all are hatched. Can be used for both I guess, but yes, you usually hear it used when incubating with a bator.

While we are talking about eggs. I have eggs in 2 different incubators, one of which I want to free up, I set them 2 days apart. All of the eggs have nicely formed air sacs, can they all go in one incubator for lockdown even though they are 2 days apart? I have eggs from a particular hen that I want to get started. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

my showstock is in a indoor coop so no sun ive been resarching feeds and what other people feed even mix feeds and the mix feeds even start with a feed bag from the feed store and they just buy extras to add it is looking like i will have to mix my own feed and i have found some good links to help me do soo i am going to a poultry show this weekend and going to ask around
