Quote: Congrats on the egg, but I have never heard of a silkie laying a white egg. Silkies lay a tinted egg: ivory coloured; looks very different next to white.
Beautiful, beautiful birds! I have to admit that Phyllis is a fav of mine...I'm partial to partridgeWow gorgeous! I really like Gretta! The one with her looking back should be in the calendar thread.
Thank you very much! She's certainly not one of the best whites out there, but she is still cute - I mean, what silkie isn'tWow gorgeous! I really like Gretta! The one with her looking back should be in the calendar thread.
My frizzle silkie is a male. He was completely blue as a chick, so I think that around his neck is just leakage. He could be considered a partridge, I just don't knowOh my goodness, I am so glad you posted a picture of your frizzle..I just got one..and isn't yours a partridge pictured here...the frizzle? Mine is a partridge. Now I have two pictures to post..one of my blue splashs' pretty egg, and one of my new frizzle baby. Now I have an idea how "she" will look someday!
Thanks Blessedchick! Phyllis is my favourite as well. I think she is one of my best silkies. And I'm like you - a sucker for partridgeBeautiful, beautiful birds! I have to admit that Phyllis is a fav of mine...I'm partial to partridgeAnd those little, teeny fuzzy butts at the feeder???? PRICELESS!!!
Love the pics of your silkies and cochins. My cochins have also decided to molt. Nothing like waiting for cold weather to do so LOLThank you very much! She's certainly not one of the best whites out there, but she is still cute - I mean, what silkie isn't![]()

Here are some more fuzzy butts, because I'm a sucker for them as well. Janet (mom) decided to molt while brooding, so ignore her unkempt appearance.

Everyone free ranging. I took down the pen. They had no grass left and that made me sadThankfully Steve is staying out of Jagger's way, so there haven't been any issues yet.![]()
