silkieXcochin has nice foot feathers a bit of a top knot and smooth feathers. Probably be some colorful feathers as the bitd gets older. They are good broodies but in my experience the boys are nasty(as far as being oversexxed). No sizzles frizzle or fricklies unless you have a frizzled cochin.
Pam, THANKS. I clicked on reply. And it brought me to Reply Content. No sunshine house...no upload. What did I do wrong? Aria

I'm sorry but I couldn't help myself. Bisque makes me think of a biscuit. What about Bisque? Isn't that another name for Porcelain? I like China Doll a lot though!
I think its a girl! Most of my boys are round. Takes me about 4 months to know sex. Some times 5.Anyone see my post about the crest shape? I figured it got lost in the midst of this weight discussioN heheheh.
my friends potential 'rooster'. do roosters have to have a swept back crest or can it be perfectly rounded?
Beautiful lady! Cute chicks!!
I love the color some are calling lavender/partrige. Getting ready to give it a go.are any one working on any project colors i know there the usuall but it always nice see something new
I was going to do Isabel/porcelain but like the other color better.I don't like blue cream either. Never heard of Wedgewood.Who else likes "Wedgewood"??? Apparently "porcelain" won't fly with with APA because we lack mottled genes. Wedgewood was suggested as an alternative. I LOVE it. Would love to see some support to get a variety name going. "Self blue cream" won't fly, so I'm told, because it's too long. "Blue cream" is acceptable to the APA but that makes no sense genetically. Would love to see us get somewhere on a workable name.
I like bisque and China Doll too except maybe not a good roo name. What about Bisque? Isn't that another name for Porcelain? I like China Doll a lot though!
I'm sorry but I couldn't help myself. Bisque makes me think of a biscuit.I think Porcelains are much prettier than biscuits. lol I like China Doll also.![]()

I'm not an expert but it looks like a girl to me also. At 5 months old, if it was a boy, shouldn't there be streamers showing already?I posted my Silkie a few months ago, and no one was sure about the gender. He/she is 5 months old today and although he looks like a boy, he exhibits hen-like personalities. He/she squats down on the floor when I put my hand on him/her. He/she has not crowed yet and makes girlish coos, as well as croak-like grunts. This is my friendliest bird and I will probably keep him no matter what his/her gender, but I just want to know. He is a dark blue silkie named Raven.

Notice his/her comb. And here are his/her foot feathers just for fun! They're not as fluffy as other silkies' though.

I know. The first thing that came to my mind was biscuit and I couldn't lose it no matter how hard I tried.Like BisQuick!!!Too funny. Bisque is an unglazed porcelain in dolls, of course it is also a fancy French soup!![]()
