Have you tried using wood ash before resorting to chemicals? Wood ash can really kill those parasites. I just treated some bantam Ameraucanas, and rechecked after 2 weeks. Not a single mite to be found!Does anyone use frontline for lice and crest mites? If so, what is the proper way it should be applied and possible side effects. We are not really interested in eating the eggs at this time, we are more interested in hatching some chicks. Does it work for killing the mites and prevention? Any help would be greatly appreciated![]()
Cute. You'll have more in no time!
Too bad you're not in Connecticut because I have some PQ that can go.Hey guys, I am not sure if I can post this here. I am looking for a silkie breeder or some pet quality silkies in my area. Let me know if you know anyone in the Texas panhandle, or if you are in the panhandle and have some silkies you are looking to sell.
Thanks,
Shareasa

I didn't try that, I went straight to the permethrin spray....especially for the crest. I am more worried about prevention now. One of my white hens is in bad shape, for whatever reason, I had to spray her down again today because when I looked her over today she still had ALOT. Nobody else still had them, just her. It was weird.Have you tried using wood ash before resorting to chemicals? Wood ash can really kill those parasites. I just treated some bantam Ameraucanas, and rechecked after 2 weeks.
