Im excited for you! When i had the first egg from each of my first hens I blew the egg out and painted their portraits on the egg shell lol! I was pretty obsessedAfter all the trials and tribulations we've had this year trying to start up a breeding program...we just got our first egg. It's adorable! I'm so happy, I can't stand it! lol

Im in Ca, on the North Coast, and am still hatching. I might keep them in the house a bit longer but after a few weeks they will go in my unheated grooming room with their little Brinsea EcoGlow warmer. They are out of a draft there ( they are in a wire pen but I put cardboard sides around it. ) They will most likely winter there and move to the coop in the spring.

mine havent laid in idk how long ... first they were broody then molting and now winter ahhhhhhhhhhhh
