Hi everyone! I fully incorporated Stella and the new chicken, Evie. I bought them a small coop where they live now. I have been noticing Stella doesn't want to leave the "house" part of the coop, while Evie plays in the run. I have been putting a fan in the coop on afternoons, but it isn't hot right now. Stella is about 8 months now. Could she be getting broody? Or is she just adjusting to the new coop and chicken? Thanks in advance!

Hello! Are both of your chickens silkies? They are my absolute favorites! If Stella is the silkie, and she stays inside all the time, my question is, does your coop have a ramp that she has to use to get out? The reason I ask this is, two of my silkies refuse to use the ramp. I think it's because their crests are so large and they can't see well. The other silkie I have has a smaller crest and she goes up and down the ramp anytime she wants. but the other two silkie hens have to be taken out in the morning, and put in at night. I'm going to build them a wider ramp to use so that they'll start going up and down on their own. Also, I think it's a little bit early for your silkie to be broody. I'm excited for you! I'd love to see pics of your silkies!

I think that is the exact problem! Stella's crest is huge! I bet she can't see! Yes, they are both silkies! I'll take some pics now!

Here they are! Evie is the one with less fluff and Stella is the huge puff- ball. Also Stella is gray and Evie is black. The red on is of my Red Sexlink! She didn't want to be left out!

Oh, they are really pretty and fluffy! And I love your red hen too! I'll share a few pics of mine here in a bit!

I have two silkies and had to show them how to walk up the ramps and I have two ramps one from run to coop and one up to the egg boxes in coop and both of my silkies have learned how to get up them just fine Just put them on the bottom of it and push their little bottoms just a tad to encourage them up and then they will get it hopefully.

Here's a pic of my 3 silkie hens.
