I am posting for a friend here. I have not seen her silkie. She says that she lost a silkie hen a couple of days ago that showed no signs of being sick except that she sat with her head down. Now she has a silkie roo that is doing the same thing. She says that he shows no signs of being sick and I asked her about discharge from the nose and eyes, coughing, sneezing, wheezing, not eating or drinking, what the poo looked like, etc. She says he shows no signs at all other than sitting hanging his head. She asked if chickens can have siezures. I don't know. Can they? I don't know why she asked this. She also wanted to know if chickens sleep real hard. ??? I told her that at night while roosting but during the day they are pretty aware of what is going on around them. I suggested she isolate him from the other chickens and give him some vitamins and electrolites and watch for any signs that he is sick. So, can chickens have siezures? She did say that the kids were out chasing the ducks and maybe the silkies got hurt in the commotion.
Thanks for any thoughts from my chicken lovin family.

That could do it. I never allow anyone to chase my animals. It stresses them badly and any trust you have built up can easily be destroyed.

Yes, I agree they should not be chased. This was done when I was not home and believe me it was dealt with when I got home.

But, the chasing was weeks ago and that was what I thought happened to the hen.
