I noticed my light Brahma rooster was breeding my paint silkie. I was wondering if anyone has any silkie x Brahmas? I would like to see how those adorable little guys will turn out! Here are the two soon to be parents. I was worried about the size difference but they seem to be working out perfectly fine thankfully

I don't think that mix would be wise to hatch.
Why not?

I don't have any crosses like that, but I can make a few predictions:
--feathered feet
--crested head
--some with beards, maybe some without
--5 toes per foot, at least for some chicks (assuming the mother has the 5 toes a Silkie should)
--normal type feathers
--normal color skin (not black like a Silkie)

For feather colors, some should be paint like their mother, and some should be black (possibly with some white leakage as they grow up.) There is a chance of other colors too, depending on what other genes the paint Silkie mother happens to carry.

She does have the five yes! I got her from a silkie breeder so she should be pure. and let me tell you she is one tough little girl… both mom and dad are black and white so that sounds about right!
Agh I love fluffy chickens! Big fluffy chickens sound so amazing

I have done it! Just for fun because I wanted to see what would happen haha. My giant Brahma rooster over my tiny blue silkie hen = light, larger than silkie, smaller than standard chicken, with black skin, 5 toes, and a fluffy hat. She has smooth feathers, not silkie feathers. Prone to broodiness. Egg is light beige, a little on the smaller side.
I tried to hatch 4 eggs, 2 of them died in their shell, fully developed. This happens sometimes, but I'm not sure if it was maybe because the chick outgrows it's tiny shell before it can hatch? Anyway, 2 hatched, one was dark blue and the the other one was yellow. And so, so tiny! My dog ate the blue one unfortunately (oops). But the yellow one turned into the little white hen in the picture. She's fairly hideous but I love her

My farmer neighbor has about 20 Brahmas. I have only silkies and had one white silkie rooster that I asked if she wanted for soup as he was evil here to every single hen and the other rooster, and drew blood three times, so had to get rid of him. She said she'd take him, I thought to make soup. She kept him and called me one day laughing so hard saying how he's riding her Brahma hens like a horse, and they let him. She said he shoots his junk out on their backs so is never going to be a dad, but he's having fun.

Fast forward to last week, she said he finally figured out how to mate a giant hen, so she's saving some of their eggs to hatch and find out what they'll end up being. I'll let you know lol.
