I have quite a few of these crosses
I have black silkies and WCB polish. oddly enough, the males from these crosses always have orangey red highlights in their feathers, while the hens are solid black. .
it helps to tell the hens from the roosters at a young age though
they have 5 toes, light leg feathering, small crests, soft, cochin like body feather, and, in my opinion, absolutely gross, huge, chewed up gum combs
they lay better then some of my leghorns and I have given some to my family, and they say they hatch eggs like a silkie
. About half will be bearded, the rest will be non if you have a bearded silkie and a nonbearded polish. Also, the mother was the silkie, the father the polish, any other questions just ask
I'll try to find a picture of them.
The rooster's face close up. Again, his parents were a Black silkie and a WCB polish. Idk where the roosters get the orange
