Hi! My 2 chicks are 9 weeks old today. I bought 8 of them at 6 weeks old. These 2 are the cockiest by far, fight and pick on everyone else. There's a couple more that are very cocky as well, but these 2 are the top. I do know that fighting and cockiness are not the only determining factor without the other factors (ie: comb, hackles, saddle feathers, etc.) I've had silkies for over 16 years, but never had backyard chickens to ask my questions to. 😁 I'm pretty familiar with sexing them early, but have never bought 6 week old chicks before. I normally hatch them myself and get used to them from babies. I'd gotten very good at predicting gender very early. But I'd love to hear what someone here thinks! The first pictures are of the dark gray chick and the second set of pictures are the lighter gray chick. The last picture is of dark gray again. I'm thinking they're both cockerels. Any guesses?

Definitely leaning cockerel for the dark gray, he's got a pretty big comb. I can't tell with the lighter one, the comb does look smaller, but still a good size. It might be wait and see with that one, though if it acts like a cockerel that may be a better indication.

The dark gray is the only one out of the 8 with a comb like that. Out of the 8, I think I got 4-5 cockerel and 3-4 pullets though. Based off of large combs, cocky attitudes, and little hackles. But I read a thread on here where the girl had 8 silkie chicks, she thought all but 1 were males, and they were fighting like crazy. And after losing 1 to a predator, out of the 7 all but 1 were pullets! 😂 So... I'd love to be wrong! Ha ha ha ha! 🤞
