Switch them to a chick starter and this could fix your issue.

so a little bit of grower feed so they continue to lay well

chickens need about %20 percent during this time of year...I made a mistake of feeding 16% myself

remember that it takes awhile for new feathers to come in, I would expect that bad of a case of feather plucking to heal in a few months...so try not to feed 100% grower feed...the best would be to buy 20% layer feed! Good luck!
